2024 BMW 4 Series Coupe XDrive, Redesign, Colors – So, the BMW 4 Series Coupe has returned for another round of roasting. That crazy grille on the front of this car had us thinking that BMW would never be heard from again, but now that the dust has cleared, we can finally focus on everything this Coupe does well. Except for a few feature shuffles, the 2024 model year’s engine range seems almost unchanged. Regarding power and economy, we prefer the 2.0-liter engine, but the 3.0-liter, 382-horsepower inline-six in the M440i and M440i xDrive always get our attention.
The small premium automobile, the BMW 4 Series, is a fantastic choice. It has a broad spectrum of powerful engines, starting with a fuel-efficient four-cylinder and going up to a turbocharged straight-six. The car’s handling is excellent, whether going for a long drive or taking it to the track. A coupe, a convertible, and a new-for-2024 four-door Gran Coupe are all available body options for the BMW 4. The Gran Coupe offers more excellent luggage room than any other vehicle in its class. All versions of the 4 Series have an easy-to-use infotainment system, a well-built cabin, and plush front seats.

The enormous, gaping grille of the 2024 BMW 4 Series Coupe will always be the car’s most notable feature. Some of us have grown used to it, and some even like it, but it all comes down to personal taste, as with any automotive design. The Series Coupe has a beautiful exterior, a dynamic rear end, and a sleek side profile. BMW’s 430i comes standard with a motorized glass sunroof, 18-inch V-spoke Bi-color orbit grey alloys, and heated and power-folding mirrors. For the M440i versions, the wheels are 18-inches in diameter and encased in a set of high-performance, run-flat tires.
In addition to Alpine White and Jet Black, which are included in the standard price, the model may be customized with various metallic paint colors. Some examples of these colors are Bluestone, Black Sapphire, Portimao Blue, San Remo Green, and Brooklyn Gray. Each of these metallics costs $500. Dravit Grey, Tanzanite Blue II, and Aventurin Red are the three $1,500 metallic paint choices offered by BMW. We’d get one in Portimao Blue if we were the ones making the purchase.

Interior
Even from the backseat, there may not be much difference in the cabin design between the BMW 4-series and 3-series models available to the public. Interior materials and critical controls appear the same as those in the four-door 3-series, but a lower roofline makes it feel more cramped. In our testing, we put five carry-on bags in the coupe model’s trunk, one fewer than in the 3-series sedan, which has a larger box.
Standard and optional 10.3-inch infotainment displays are available on the 2024 4-series and the 3-series sedan. A console-mounted click wheel controller makes it easy to utilize the iDrive seven infotainment system while driving; those who want to interact with the display directly can do so because both shows are touchscreens. For the most part, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, while a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, onboard WiFi, and a wireless smartphone charging pad are available as options.

Engine
There isn’t a negative option among the BMW 4 Series’ four engine options for 2024. The base 430i model’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine more than lives up to expectations, powering this BMW forward with assurance and seamlessly transferring power to the rear wheels. The M-badged vehicles’ turbocharged six-cylinder engines deliver much greater power. The M440i accelerates much faster than the standard model, and we think it’s the best choice in terms of performance and price.
The EPA’s estimations for the four-cylinder 430i Coupe are 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the interstate. Even with all-wheel drive, those numbers decrease to 24 and 33 mpg on the highway. The M440i’s combined fuel economy is rated at 22 city/31 highway mpg. The M440i model hasn’t been tested on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, but the 430i xDrive returned 34 mpg in our 200-mile test.
