2024 BMW 8-Series Grand Coupe Specs, Review, Cost

2024 BMW 8-Series Grand Coupe Specs, Review, CostAs an extension of the coupe body design, the 2024 BMW 8-series Gran Coupe features an additional pair of doors for increased practicality while maintaining the car’s sporty handling and clean roofline. A powerful twin-turbo V-8 is an option for the entry-level model, which comes standard with a smooth-running turbocharged inline-six. The 8-series Gran Coupe is swift and elegant with any engine. The Mercedes-AMG GT four-door, the Porsche Panamera, the Audi S7, and Porsche Panamera all have fastback styling comparable to the SL’s. Although the inside is classy and pleasant, we recommend the roomier 7-series sedan instead if you want a limousine-like experience in the back seat.

New front bumper styles, a redesigned grille with standard lighting, new wheel designs, and a new color scheme will be included in the 2024 refresh of the 8-series Gran Coupe. A 12.3-inch infotainment display enhances the sedan’s interior. The Alpina B8 variant will reappear in 2024 with the same aesthetic upgrades as the primary vehicle. Only eight of the 8 x Jeff Koons models are available for $350,995 each, with the outside painted in a unique color and the inside designed by the famous American artist.

Interior

Inside, the BMW 8-Series from 2024 looks like a coupe. The sloping roofline affects passenger headroom, and the back seats, like those in every other car in this market, are too small to accommodate adults comfortably. The front seats, on the other hand, are classic BMW, with plenty of padding and bolstering and the option of 14-way power adjustment. Although the inside is luxurious, the only way to get into or out of the back seat is by folding the front chairs.

The inside of the 2024 BMW 8-Series coupe has a majestic and opulent feel because of the brand’s attention to detail. While the leather-wrapped M-steering wheel stands out, the Nappa leather dashboard finish complements the other high-end materials. For the price of a car, the anthracite headliner, floormats, and Merino leather upholstery for the seats make it all worth it.

Engine

A test drive will soon reveal the performance disparities between the two engine options for 2024. BMW’s entry-level 3.0-liter inline-six engine makes 335 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. When equipped with the RWD or xDrive modes, this system can accelerate from rest to 60mph (and back) in 4.9 seconds or 4.6 seconds, depending on the model. Despite its lack of strength, we enjoy the smoothness with which it is delivered. The M850i xDrive’s twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 will suffice if you need more power. With a simple touch of the gas pedal, 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque can be unleashed. The 8 Series Gran Coupe can go from zero to sixty in under 3.7 seconds in this configuration. Automobiles with an enhanced limiter and summer-performance tires may reach up to 155 mph speeds. With an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 840i can deliver power to the rear or all four wheels. Only AWD is offered for the M850i.

Driving the 3.0-liter variant with a light foot will result in excellent gas mileage statistics for a vehicle in this class, even for a massive car with such strong performance figures. In terms of city/highway/combined mpg, the base model 840i is rated at 22/29/25. These figures drop to 20/27/23mpg for the xDrive version of the vehicle. However, the more powerful M850i xDrive will still score a decent 17/24/19 mpg, even if it is a powerhouse. The 840i’s 18-gallon fuel tank allows the 8 Series Gran Coupe to go up to 450 miles on a single fill.
