2024 BMW M3 XDrive, AWD, Release Date – It is a small sedan with four available specifications. The base price of a 2024 BMW M3 is $70,100. Competitors at that price point include the Mercedes-Benz AMG C 63, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, and the Audi RS 5 Sportsback. The M3 is available in four distinct trim levels, each with its independent engine that produces varying amounts of thrust. It is possible to generate 473 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque from the standard 3.0L Twin-Turbo Inline-6 engine and a 6-Speed Manual gearbox. This same engine makes 503 hp when paired with the optional 8-speed automatic transmission found on the Competition models.
The xDrive all-wheel-drive technology was introduced on the 2024 BMW M3, but unfortunately, it can only be had on the automatic M3 Competition. There are three distinct modes available: 4WD, 4WD Sport (which delivers more torque to the rear wheels for that signature rear-biased handling balance), and 2WD (which sends full power to the rear wheels for authentic burnouts). Modifications are made to the front axle’s geometry, steering, and oiling system to make room for the AWD components.
2024 BMW M3 Redesign
The 2024 BMW M3 is visually identical to the 2024 model. The front appearance is dominated by the very divisive prominent kidney grille, similar to the new BMW M4. Larger grilles are more aesthetically pleasing but improve ventilation and temperature control. The brakes, which come standard with iron calipers but can be upgraded to gold ones or carbon-ceramic ones, also have vents to keep them cool.
There are just two standard non-cost options for both the Competition and ordinary models: the divisive Sao Paulo Yellow and BMW’s classic Alpine White. For an extra $550, you may get a metallic finish in either Black Sapphire (a favorite of sunbathers), Portimao blue, Toronto red, the magnificent Isle of Man green, Brooklyn grey, or the brand-new Skyscraper grey for 2024.
The M3 is mechanically identical to the standard 3-series, and the cabin is mostly the same, except for special “M” badging and some specialized trim. The M3 is similar to its more pedestrian sibling in layout, interior size, and window view. M vehicles match or surpass the materials and construction quality of the top-of-the-line 3-series and are also noted for their sturdier performance. It’s no secret that the M3 looks sportier because of its increased carbon fiber and micro suede use.
The driver of the M3 is greeted with a wide, curving digital gauge cluster that, when in the sportier drive modes enabled by conspicuous red buttons on the thick steering wheel, displays information in M View. When you switch to M View, the standard tachometer is replaced by a more legible digital version, and a shift indicator is added. If you need more support but don’t want to give up comfort, you can get a pair of lightweight front seats with a lot of bolstering, which comes standard in the Competition.
The 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine from the 2024 BMW M3 is recycled into the 2024 model. The standard M3 has a 6-speed manual transmission and RWD, and its engine produces 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. With an 8-speed automatic transmission and the newly available xDrive package, the M3 Competition variant produces 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The 2024 M3 Competition xDrive will include three different drive modes: regular AWD, 4WD Sport, which sends most of the torque to the rear wheels, and 2WD, which sends all of the torque to the back wheels.
BMW declares a 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds for the M3, 3.7 seconds for the Competition, and 3.4 seconds for the M3 Competition drive. The standard top speed for all versions is 155 mph, increasing to 180 mph when the M Driver’s package is installed. As a sports vehicle, the M3’s handling is on par with the best, thanks to its well-balanced chassis. The adjustable suspension dampers keep the ride quality from being overly firm. The stock brakes are adequate, but an aftermarket carbon-ceramic brake may be installed for even more stopping power.
2024 BMW M3 Price and Release Date
The standard BMW M3 has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $69,900 before the $995 destination charge and other fees and taxes, while the base price of the M3 Competition is $72,800 and rises to $76,900 when the xDrive all-wheel drive system is specified. However, the base price of an RS5 Sportback is $75,400. The BMW M3 Competition model, with every available physical option in the United States, costs roughly $110,000. The BMW M3 will return in 2024 as a brand-new vehicle, and sales will begin in June of that year.
