2024 BMW M8 Coupe Engine, Colors, Release Date

2024 BMW M8 Coupe Engine, Colors, Release DateAfter a year-long hiatus, BMW has released a new and improved M8 Coupe. This beautiful Coupe may look like any other 8 Series, but now every M8 comes standard with Competition trim. This includes a track-tuned chassis, an all-wheel-drive system that favors the rear wheels, and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 gas fuel engine that produces 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The 2024 M8 Coupe, despite its large stature, enjoys being tossed around bends and provides its passengers with opulent comforts. The M8 faces off against the likes of the Porsche 911 and the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe, meaning it has to prove itself against both authentic sports cars and polished GTs.

BMW’s flagship M8 sports car was absent from the 2024 calendars but returns for 2024 looking better than ever despite not being an all-new design. The most notable shift is that the M8 is now only available in Competition trim, which brings a more powerful engine, stiffer suspension, more aggressive wheel alignment, and more robust engine mounts. For the 2024 model year, lighter M Carbon bucket seats can be bought as a separate option.

2024 BMW M8 Coupe Redesign

In terms of exterior styling, the 2024 BMW M8 Competition Coupe is outfitted with the complete Shadow line treatment, which includes a blacked-out grille, mirror caps, rear apron spoiler, and M8 Competition emblem. We also like the opportunity to swap the standard BMW emblem with a 50th anniversary BMW Motorsport emblem. All the essential sportiness is provided by the new M-Sport 20-inch bi-color wheels, complete carbon roof, little ducktail spoiler, and quad-tip exhaust pipes. The package comes with a broader range of metallic paint colors for the outside, power mirrors that can be heated, and adaptive LED headlights and taillights that can be set to run during the day.

BMW didn’t go to town when designing the 2024 M8 Coupe, so this German muscle vehicle comes across as somewhat subdued until you paint it the appropriate color. BMW’s M8 Coupe is available in a rainbow of shades. The ever-popular Alpine White is only the beginning; other metallic colors, including Black Sapphire, Brands Hatch Grey, Marina Bay Blue, Donington Grey, Bluestone, Barcelona Blue, and Motegi Red, are available at no extra cost. Dravit Grey Metallic, Aventurin Red Metallic, and Ametrine Metallic are all available to new customers for an additional $1,950. The cost of $5,000 will get you a piece of frozen Bluestone metallic. We’d opt for the Dravit Grey Metallic finish if we were shopping.

Interior

While BMW is known for producing houses with high-quality materials and excellent design, we cannot help but feel that the M8’s inside seems too similar to every other BMW. Even though the M8’s racing pedigree is blatantly on display, BMW has made it seem merely comfortable, somewhat athletic, and rather refined. The M8 Coupe’s outside emblem may shout “rowdy,” but the cabin begs you to kick back and relax. The occasion-making abilities of Mercedes-AMG are excellent. Nonetheless, we feel at home in this area; the design is pleasant, and the standard technology is rather good. There are soft-closing doors, front seats that can be heated and cooled, and a digital instrument cluster.

The inside of the 2022 BMW M8 Coupe, like with every current M vehicle, is a polished and elegant space that oozes luxury from top to bottom. BMW’s design may be understated, but the quality of construction and the materials used are also excellent. Standard Merino leather upholstery is available in Silverstone or Black; for an additional $3,500, you can upgrade to a black Alcantara fabric and entire Merino leather interior with Midrand Beige contrast stitching. Silverstone, Sakhir Orange/Black, Midrand Beige, Taruma Brown, and Black are all available in complete Merino leather upgrades for the same price. You can also get your car in Ivory White and Night Blue or Ivory White and Tartufo, but such color combinations may increase your wait time.

Engine

The automotive industry notices whenever BMW introduces a new V8 engine emphasizes performance. This engine is the only thing that will convince you to buy it after a test drive. The 2024 M8 Coupe’s gas-powered S63 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine is a refined version of the one found in the M850i and is also used in the M5 Sedan. With the Competition package installed in 2024, the S63’s output jumps from 600 to 617 horsepower, but the torque number stays the same. A quick ZF eight-speed automatic transmits power to all four wheels.

Using this powerplant is like being subjected to an unceasing wave of torque and horsepower. In the city, the M8 Coupe is a model of civility, but as soon as you hit the highway, you’ll be coughing up your vape pen faster than you can say, “your network is your net worth.” The lack of a manual transmission is OK with us because this is more of a grand tourer than a sports car, and the ZF automatic is quite precise.

2024 BMW M8 Coupe Release Date and Price

Putting an M emblem on a BMW’s trunk increases its value significantly. With a starting price of $130,000, the 2024 BMW M8 Coupe is, along with the M8 Gran Coupe, one of the most costly models in BMW’s M range. Tax, registration, a $1,000 gas guzzler tax, and a $995 delivery and handling fee are not included in the price of the BMW M8. Affordably priced at a starting price of $99,900 in the United States, the M850i xDrive is an ideal alternative for individuals who don’t need the M-accelerated car’s technology. The 2024 BMW M8 Coupe is scheduled to debut in the summer of that year in the United States.
