2024 BMW X1 Rumors, Specs, Review

2024 BMW X1 Rumors, Specs, ReviewDue to its responsive handling, enthusiastic personality, and practical design, the BMW X1 entry-level SUV has long been our favorite. With upgrades to its chassis, powertrain, and interior, the 2024 model has undergone a complete redesign and seems to be a significant upgrade over the model from the previous year. Under the hood is a brand-new 241-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a standard seven-speed automated transmission and all-wheel drive. The X1 is still a two-row SUV, unlike the Mercedes-Benz GLB-class, its main competitor. However, BMW says that the X1’s slightly bigger outside dimensions have led to more space inside.

Thanks to its adequate new base and powerful powertrain configuration, the 2024 BMW X1 is a light and enjoyable SUV to drive about. Its feature-rich and roomy interior also meet practical and valuable needs. Additionally, when you mix it with the premium interior fixtures and materials already present, you end up with a best seller. The X1 will be the first vehicle to offer an optional EV alternative, significantly expanding the EV market. However, it’s possible that we won’t see that until 2024. Competitors for the 2024 BMW X1 include the Audi Q3, Cadillac XT4, and Volvo XC40. Let’s see if the vintage BMW can outperform the fresh talent.

The only exterior changes to the BMW X1 for 2024 are eliminating the Glacier Silver Metallic paint color. The X1 is a lovely little executive SUV that is well wrapped, even though photographs make it appear considerably more significant than it is. Although the exterior seems a bit bland to us, it doesn’t appear much worse than any of its rivals, and we like it better looking than a Lexus NX. Exterior Features for 2024 include 18-inch Y-Spoke bi-color wheels, satin aluminum roof rails, rear privacy glass, and halogen head and tail lamps. High-gloss Shadowline roof rails, 17-inch M double-spoke wheels, and Shadowline external trim are all included with the M Sport package. Optional features include a panoramic sunroof and LED headlights with cornering lights.

You can choose nine different exterior colors for the stylish BMW X1 SUV. Alpine White and Jet Black are the two free paint options that BMW provides for the X1. You will have to pay an additional $550 for metallic hues, including Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Cashmere Silver, Grey, Phytonic Blue, Misano Blue, and Storm Bay. BMW has dropped Glacier Silver Metallic for 2024. The M Sport Package is required for Misano Blue Metallic, which adds $4,900 to the final price. If we had the option, we would choose one of the $1,200 Storm Bay Metallic, but this is an option.

Interior

The interior of the BMW has always pleased us, and the 2024 BMW X1 is no exception. The cabin appears somewhat plain if you are only considering the design. It falls short of our anticipations for a car in this price range. This BMW SUV is pleasant, speaking of which. The inside has luxurious leather upholstery and soft-touch materials on the doors and dash. The chairs have good padding, and the side bolstering gives you a sense of security and comfort. With room to spare, the crossover can comfortably fit five passengers. One of the USPs of the X1 is that the back row doesn’t seem crowded, even for taller adults. The X1 appears to be significantly more extensive than its rivals. It looks roomy overall because the rear legroom is more significant than most of the competitors. The largest in the segment, the cargo capacity is excellent.

Moving forward to infotainment, the 2024 BMW X1 will use the iDrive system, which has an 8.8-inch standard display screen. According to professionals, this is one of the best infotainment systems to put in a car. The fact that it still does not support Android Auto is its only disadvantage. If you upgrade to Harman Kardon’s 12-speaker setup, there is nothing like it because the standard speakers are not as immersive. Gibberish is not detected by voice recognition, which is rapid and responsive. The interior experience is fantastic overall, thanks to the cabin quality and technology.

Engine

The 2024 BMW X1 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission delivers power to either the front wheels or all four. The engine in the X1 looks pretty useable thanks to a broad torque curve that starts low in the rev range, especially around town, where you hardly have to wait for the turbo to wake up before you handle a surge of power. The X1 is a self-assured cruiser and overtakes with joy on the highway, which is similar to city driving. The eight-speed automatic shifts with pinpoint accuracy and is surprisingly easy to use for an automatic transmission. The machine and transmission are a perfect match. When the front wheels aren’t getting enough traction, the X1’s AWD configuration allows it to temporarily send all of its power to the back wheels. The X1’s powerful performance and smooth gearbox make it one of the best cars in its class to drive.

The 2024 X1 is available in either FWD or AWD versions, which will alter the amount of fuel consumed on average. The X1 is a surprisingly frugal vehicle, especially considering its remarkable performance, with only roughly 3,500 pounds to move around in FWD configuration and a small-capacity turbocharged powertrain in use. According to the EPA, the BMW X1 will achieve the best gas mileage in 2024, with combined ratings of 24/33/27 mpg. These figures will decrease to 23/31/26 mpg if you choose the AWD variant. Depending on the drivetrain, the X1’s maximum range with a 16.1-gallon fuel tank will be between 418 and 434 miles.

2024 BMW X1 Date and Price

The new BMW X1 is offered in two drivetrain options: front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The sDrive28i is the entry-level model with the former drivetrain, while the xDrive28i has the latter. Tax, registration, and a $995 destination fee are not included in the $35,400 MSRP for the base model sDrive28i in the USA. The price of the xDrive28i variant is $37,400. These costs have not altered from the previous year. With a base price of $35,900, the Audi Q3 is initially a little pricey. If all the options are added, the cost of the fully-loaded BMW X1 will reach slightly over $50,000, including destination.
