BMW i8 M 2024 Sports Car Specs, Review, Price – Even though the current i8 hasn’t lived up to the sporting ambitions BMW had for it, the German luxury company hasn’t given up on high-priced hybrid sports vehicles. The development of the new i8—we like to call it the i8 M, as it should represent a significant performance upgrade over the current model—is now ongoing, and BMW’s Vision M Next concept from mid-2019 is proof of this. The i8 M is expected to have a significant boost in power, a more extended range when running on electricity alone, a new look, and a better chassis.
BMW’s next-generation hybrid sports car, the i8 M, or whatever the company calls it, will debut for the 2024 model year. It is expected to go on sale in 2024 as a 2024 model, and we anticipate learning more about it as we move closer to that date.

It isn’t easy to recommend the i8 M without knowing the specifications and possible options. We expect the i8 M will be available in both a coupe and a convertible, just like the present model. Even today, the i8’s two-tone paintwork and low-slung position make it a stunning piece of automobile design. The 20-inch bi-color light-alloy wheels and a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic roof enhance the visual drama. Of course, the butterflies’ doors and buttresses will never go out of style.
At just 50.8 inches tall and 184.9 inches long, the I8 has a shallow and broad stance due to its low and wide dimensions (including the side mirrors). While the 4.6-inch ground clearance adds drama to the vehicle, it also makes it difficult to get into and out of steep driveways. The curb weight of the i8 Coupe, according to BMW, is 3,501 pounds.

BMW i8 M 2024 INTERIOR
Interior
The i8 M will likely be BMW’s playground for future styling, with unusual materials, cutting-edge technologies, and eye-popping designs, just like the current car. Many details are yet unknown about BMW’s i8 M’s interior, but we’re expecting the car will have front-hinged doors and a lower side sill to make getting in and out of the vehicle easier. A “frunk” may be added to the front of the car to increase available storage space.
Details about the i8 M’s in-car entertainment system are still up in the air after three and a half years, so don’t worry. As part of BMW’s Vision M Next concept car, the company showcased a futuristic infotainment system called the Boost Pod, which incorporates multiple glass screens and a head-up display for the driver’s use.

Engine
With the same basic layout as the current i8, the plug-in hybrid powertrain for the i8 M is expected to include a front-wheel-drive electric motor, a mid-mounted gasoline engine, and an electric motor for the rear wheels. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine will replace the i8’s 1.5-liter three-cylinder gas engine, and BMW promises a total system output of 591 horsepower, significantly higher than the i8’s 369-horsepower output. The i8 M will be able to compete with the Acura NSX, Lexus LC500h, and Polestar 1.
The current i8’s 18-mile electric driving range is abysmal, to put it mildly. The battery’s capacity in the Vision M Next concept car is unknown, although BMW claims it has a 62-mile electric driving range. According to BMW engineers, either the 11.6-kWh battery pack in the present vehicle can handle additional miles, or there is room for a considerably more significant battery pack. It’s more than likely that this is the case. When the i8 M goes on sale, we’ll have more details about the car’s battery, range, and charging capabilities.
BMW i8 M 2024 Release Date and Pricing
To put it simply, it is not inexpensive. For the BMW i8, starting at $147,500 includes the brand’s $995 destination charge, as well as all applicable taxes, licensing, and registration fees. Although it’s less expensive than the i8 Roadster ($15,800), the Porsche 911 GT3 ($143,600) is nonetheless more pricey. BMW has not yet announced the i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition’s price.
