BMW M3 CS 2024 Specs, Redesign, Price – The BMW M3 sedan is a fantastic product, even without optional extras. However, now that M has released a CSL version of the M4 coupe to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary, enthusiasts are excitedly awaiting the arrival of the M3’s pinnacle version, the upcoming “Competition Sport” edition. BMW’s M3 CS, last seen in 2018, is the line’s pinnacle model. The hottest M3 sedan is becoming more of a mystery as just tidbits are released, placing it above the M3 Competition but below the M4 CSL. With the same engine as the M4 CSL, the M3 CS should be more agile and faster than previous M3 models. The new BMW M3 CS sedan will be the best-handling iteration of the M3, and it may finally be the version we’ve been waiting for since the start of the current generation. The CS moniker has a long and illustrious history, most recently appearing on the M2 and M5. The Audi RS5 Sportback and the Mercedes-AMG C63 Sedan are two of the standard M3’s key competitors, so it will be interesting to see if they can produce a worthy alternative.
In 2024, BMW will release a special edition M3 called the Edition 50 Jahre BMW M to commemorate 50 years of excellence in motorsports. Only 500 will be made available in the Americas, and they’ll come in five different “reimagined” versions of classic BMW M3 colors from the past five generations. As for the rest of the special edition M3’s exterior, you can expect matte gray alloys, a carbon fiber front splitter, quad carbon fiber-tipped tailpipes, and a carbon fiber roof. Black Extended Merino Leather with tricolor M stripes and contrast stitching is another option for the seating surfaces. BMW’s newest operating system is powering the new standard for the M3’s curved instrument cluster. The Driver Recorder is no longer part of the Parking Assistance bundle but is offered as a separate add-on. The Executive Plan no longer includes gesture control.
2024 BMW M3 Redesign
The BMW M3 CS 2024 will supposedly be much lighter than the M3 Competition because of its extensive use of carbon fiber in the body. There will be a carbon fiber roof, a carbon tailgate with a lip spoiler, and a redesigned front bumper with a spoiler based on the M4 CSL’s design. Based on the refreshed 3 Series, the redesigned headlights will sport yellow DRL signatures to match the M5 CS’s, and the dominating kidney grilles will have a new design inspired by the CSL. We anticipate front and rear wheels measuring 18 and 19 inches, with 19- and 20-inch options. We are open to the possibility of a different color scheme or style of wheels. Some paint schemes may only be available on specific models. Although it has not been officially announced, the BMW M3 CS will likely only be available in two or three exterior colors: black, white, and a distinctive shade similar to the Misano Blue seen on the M2 CS and the Frozen Deep Green Metallic seen on the M5 CS.
Due to a lack of official data, the dimensions of the G80 M3 sedan can be used as a basis for estimating the dimensions of the 2024 BMW M3 convertible. The M3 sedan is 189.1 inches long, 74.3 inches wide, and stands at the height of 56.4 inches. The whole thing rests on a wheelbase of 112.5 inches. The M3 CS’s custom bodywork should be refined with the last number, although it could raise the others significantly. The 2024 BMW M4 CSL weighs 3,650 pounds, around 340 pounds lighter than the 2022 M3 Competition. Because the M3 CS will have an extra row of seats and all-wheel drive, its curb weight is likely to be in the 3,800-pound range.
The BMW M3 CS 2024 is expected to have a more technologically cutting-edge cabin and a more sporty vibe than the previous generation. Ready-to-Run M Bucket seats are a sure bet in the front, while rumors about bucket seats in the back have been circulating. The front seats will be upholstered in carbon fiber and extended merino leather. Unlike its coupe sibling, the M3 CS can accommodate two more passengers because of its sedan body style. You can count on seeing plenty of CS logos and luxurious Alcantara on the doors, dashboard, and center console. If we learn anything from the past, we might see pull straps replace conventional door handles.
What we do know about the cabin is that the BMW Curved Display and 8th-generation iDrive will be included as standard equipment in all BMW vehicles beginning in 2024. The CS will consist of a 14.9-inch infotainment screen with navigation and smartphone integration and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display. It would help if you didn’t have trouble fitting all your groceries or school supplies in the BMW M3 CS, as its cargo space is anticipated to be on par with the basic M3 sedan (13 cubic feet).
The BMW M3 CS 2024 is expected to produce around 540 horsepower thanks to the same 3.0 liter turbocharged straight-six S58 engine in previous M models like the M4 CSL. It has been rumored that the future M4 CS sedan would share the same 543 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque as the upcoming M4 CSL. According to reports, the M3 CS will only be available with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. While the rear-wheel-drive-only M4 CSL claims a 0–60 mph time of 3.6 seconds, the all-wheel-drive M3 CS may be somewhat quicker.
Gas mileage for the M3 CS is unknown, although the EPA estimates that the RWD M3 Competition and Sedan with the same power plant get 16/23/19 mpg city/highway/combined and that the AWD versions get 16/22/18 mpg. The 2024 BMW M3 CS is unlikely to see an improvement in fuel economy thanks to a powertrain tuned for CS levels of power and standard all-wheel drive.
2024 BMW M3 Release Date and Price
Most estimates put the cost of a BMW M3 CS 2024 somewhere between $85,000 and $95,000. Given the expected low production run of the M3 CS and the beginning MSRP of the M3 and M4 Competition variants in the mid-$70k range, the premium is reasonable. The first version, M3 CS, was limited to 1,200 units, and we anticipate a similar number for the second iteration. An official date has yet to be set for the BMW M3 CS’s arrival in the United States, but we anticipate it will be sometime in the early spring of 2023. In March 2023, production is scheduled to begin.
