Next-Gen 2024 BMW M5 CS Colors, Dimensions, Release Date – The 2024 BMW M5 continues to dominate its segment despite being cranked up many notches in performance compared to the standard 5-series. In 2024, however, BMW introduces the M5 Competition Sport (CS), a lightweight variation of the M5 with a twin-turbo V8 that produces 627 horsepower. The base price of a 2024 M5 is $103,700 at most BMW dealerships, with the M5 CS costing an additional $142,000.
BMW didn’t see the need to upgrade the M5 this year because it was completely redesigned for 2018. However, the new M5 CS, the world’s quickest street-legal M5, has stolen the show this year. The M5 CS is the talk of the town thanks to its bolstered M carbon-fiber front seats, rear bucket seats, and bronze-colored 20-inch wheels. Among other things, this explains the $39,000 price increase. The standard M5 still packs a punch while maintaining a low profile. The M5 has a dual personality since it can also serve as a high-end family car.

Next-Gen 2024 BMW M5 CS Redesign
The M5 CS features a few unique additions to the standard M5 but also benefits from the latest design updates to the regular 5 Series. Its design isn’t flashy, but it’s less divisive than that of other new BMWs, which is good news in our book. The CS’s iconic grille has been upgraded to shiny gold bronze. 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in Gold Bronze round off the package. M carbon-ceramic brakes are installed in the hubs. To save weight, carbon fiber reinforced plastic is used for the roof, hood, and mirror covers to keep weight. There’s a big M carbon rear spoiler and four exhaust outlets in the back. The L-shaped light tubes emit a yellowish light, and the adaptive headlights are standard equipment. It’s a stylish sedan that hint at its higher performance potential without being overt.
The current 5 Series isn’t as engaging to drive as earlier models in the series since it’s larger than before. The M5 CS’s proportions reflect this. Dimensionally, it’s 196.9 inches in length, 74.9 inches wide (not including mirrors), and 57.8 inches in height. The overall length is 117.3 inches, while the wheelbase is 117.4 inches. The standard M5’s ride height has been lowered by 0.2 inches. The M5 CS sedan weighs 4,115 pounds, so it’s not exactly light. However, it’s 230 pounds lighter than the regular M5. As a single component, the carbon-ceramic brakes on the M5 Competition save 51 pounds compared to the M compound brakes.
BMW M5 CS standard features Frozen Brands Hatch Grey metallic and Frozen Deep Green metallic, the only two colors available from BMW Individual. These unique hues set the CS apart from the regular M5, which comes in standard colors like black and white and costs an additional $5,000 each. Gold-painted brake calipers are available for no additional cost if you’d like to add a little bling to your ride.

Next-Gen 2024 BMW M5 CS Interior
Interior
The 2024 BMW M5 may have the performance of a true supercar, but it is still a high-end luxury vehicle. The M5’s luxurious leather interior is second only to that of the top-tier seven series. Very little has altered in terms of the dashboard design or interior. You can stand out with the M Color seat belts with the M Competition model. Supportive and comfortable bucket seats sit up front.
The M5 CS has an M carbon-fiber front seat and rear bucket seats, among other significant interior elements. The chairs include 20 different power adjustments and heated upholstery as standard. The leather three-spoke steering wheel has a motorized tilt and telescoping feature but otherwise has a simple design. There’s plenty of room in the back, and you can even have heated seats. The legroom between the two rows of seats is generous. The back seats provide space for five adults to ride in Comfort.

Engine
The M5 is a powerful machine with a standard 4.4-liter V-8 that produces 600 horsepower. This number rises to 617 and 627 horsepower in the Competition and CS variants, which are optimized for the racetrack. Even though we haven’t been behind the wheel of the CS yet, we’ve already attached our testing equipment to the standard M5 and the Competition variant. Both lived up to our high standards, exceeding them with lightning-fast launches, sports-car-like grip in corners, and tremendous stopping power. Similarly, at the 2019 Virginia International Raceway Lightning Lap competition, the competition outpaced a standard M5 on the Grand Course.
While diehard M5 fans may be disappointed by the lack of a manual transmission and familiarity with an AWD system, they’ll be pleased to learn that this Bimmer’s high-tech drivetrain can route all its torque to the rear wheels with serious wagging of the back end. This vehicle’s energetic and direct handling, well-controlled yet harsh ride, and other attributes make it a delight to drive. This, however, does not preclude the M5 from serving as a premium car. The vehicle travels at a leisurely pace when set in Comfort, and the interior is entirely silent. The current M5 has an EPA city/highway fuel economy rating of 15/21, respectively. These numbers are even lower than the ones for the Mercedes-AMG E63 S sedan (16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway). As part of our comprehensive testing, we put the M5 Comp through its paces on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route. It got an extra 3 miles per gallon compared to the official figure. You may learn more about the M5’s gas mileage by checking it out on the EPA’s website.
Next-Gen 2024 BMW M5 CS Release Date and Price
The BMW M5 costs $142,000 in the United States. Not included in this MSRP is a $995 destination fee. Compared to the starting price of an M5, which is $103,500 before adding the $7,600 Competition package, that’s a significant premium. The Mercedes-AMG E63 S is also more reasonable, with a base price of $107,500 for the 2024 model year. The 2024 BMW M5 is scheduled to debut in the summer of that year in the United States.
