Next-Gen BMW 2 Series Coupe 2024 Specs, Colors, Release Date – The BMW 2-Series is a fun-to-drive compact luxury sedan that packs a serious punch. The 230i and M240i are only available as coupes, and they have pretty different powertrain options, but both can be had with either rear- or all-wheel drive. The 230i uses the same turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four used in the Toyota Supra and many other BMW models to generate 255 horsepower. The M240i’s turbocharged inline-six engine, producing 382 horsepower, is far more fun to drive. Unfortunately, a manual gearbox is not an option.
Even yet, the latest revamp of BMW’s smallest vehicle has resulted in a surprisingly rapid ride, with reliable stopping power and a chassis that relishes the twisties. The essential thing about the 2-Series hasn’t changed much from the previous generation: it’s a fun car to drive, and it’s affordable, especially the 230i with its four cylinders. It’s bigger now, but there’s less room in the back than there used to be. There is a 2-Series four-door with more room in the back, but we’re not fans of the Gran Coupe because it uses a separate front-drive chassis. This model is being examined independently.
Next-Gen BMW 2 Series Coupe 2024 Redesign
Minor cosmetic updates are planned for the 2024 BMW 2 Series coupe, which will most likely include the car’s trademark massive kidney-shaped grille. Aside from those changes, the new Coupe will probably keep the same long hood and short deck as the outgoing 2 Series Coupe. The car’s broad wheel arches contribute to its sporting character and are also not likely to alter. We have no problems if BMW decides to keep the 2 Series Coupe’s attractive and dynamic external design for its next generation. Among its contemporaries, the 2 Series Coupe has the smallest overall footprint. Cadillacs are the biggest, with Mercedes-Benzes coming in as a close second. The Audi appears to be the most similar in length to the BMW, but its width is much more than that of the BMW. The A3 is the lightest of the bunch by a significant margin.
Both the Alpine White and Jet Black paint jobs are accessible. There are just six metallic hues to choose from, and they’re all USD 550. Some of the colors you may choose from are Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red, Mineral White, Portimao Blue, Brooklyn Grey, and Thundernight. The latter is the awe-inspiring purple of which we have previously spoken and shall continue to do so for its breathtaking beauty. Alpine White is the only color for the M240i that doesn’t cost extra, while Jet Black isn’t available in any way, even without the M Sport package.
BMW’s cabin design isn’t revolutionary, but the high-quality construction and comfortable ergonomics are more than makeup. The new 2 Series follows the company’s standard interior design and layout. A base set of analog gauges is included, but a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a head-up display are offered options. What we need is for the front seats to be more comfortable. The Coupe’s back seat has less headroom and legroom than the model it replaces, even though the length and breadth of the vehicle, as well as the wheelbase, have increased by 2.0 inches.
A 14-speaker, 464-watt Harman Kardon system is available for those who want a more robust audio experience. The infotainment system in the 2-series may be accessed either via a conventional 8.8-inch touchscreen or a 10.3-inch device (the latter is optional). Each one comes standard with a 10-speaker sound system, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an Internet connection that requires a subscription. The interface may be navigated via the steering wheel controls, voice commands, and a rotary controller in the center console surrounded by convenient shortcut buttons. In addition, BMW thoughtfully provides a tactile volume knob.
BMW fans will recognize the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder in the 230i and the 3.0-liter turbo inline-six in the M240i as the two standard engines. Both power plants are linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that can be switched between manual and automated modes thanks to ZF. BMW used to only offer the dual-clutch transmission in their full-size M vehicles, but they’ve abandoned it in favor of this eight-speed since it’s so much better. It’s a legendary transmission that, when instructed, can be as subdued as a kitten, smoothly switching gears without making a peep. If you keep your finger on the left paddle, the gearbox will go into “Sprint Mode,” which will cause it to drop down to the first gear instantly. You can choose how you want to drive with Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus. We provide standard launch control. BMW does not have a setting specifically for cold weather, although Comfort and winter tires should be sufficient. With the 240i’s standard all-wheel drive, slick roads shouldn’t be an issue.
The engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 255 hp at 5,000 rpm and 294 lb-ft of torque at 1,550 rpm. There is a lot of low-end torque for such a compact car, and it’s a significant increase over the 230i from last year. More power is made available by the M240i’s turbocharged six. At 5,800 rpm, it generates 382 horsepower, and at 1,800 rpm, it delivers 369 pound-feet of torque. That’s more than the original M2, proving that even BMW’s sub-M product already has more power than the actual 2016 M2.
Next-Gen BMW 2 Series Coupe 2024 Release Date and Price
The BMW 2 Series Coupe, which has been reintroduced for 2024, will debut in June of that year. Prices for the base 230i model start at $36,350. The M240i xDrive version of this BMW 2 Series costs $48,550 if you want to go for the extra six cylinders of power it provides. No $995 destination fee is included in these rates.
